When a school's walls tell a story

The images on this page come from a visit to Dubai World Academy, where I spent today working with a cluster of GEMS IB programme coordinators representing all four IB programmes. I always enjoy visiting other schools and learning from the different ways they bring their values and vision to life.

What particularly impressed me about Dubai World Academy was the intentional use of the learning environment. The central atrium, for example, doubled as a welcoming café space for parents, many of whom gathered for breakfast after dropping off their children.

Throughout the school, careful thought had been given to the messages displayed on walls and the way spaces communicated a sense of purpose and belonging. Rather than say more, I will let you explore these images and discover some of the details for yourself.
