Combining old and new tech

The following activity shows how I combine AI with more traditional methods to revise for an exam. In this case, students were applying concepts to the prevalence rates of one or more disorders. Of course, this activity could be applied to any Paper 1, Section C question.
Step 1. Brainstorming
We started with a race. I have my 24 students sitting six to a table. I put the following table on the board (my writing in black ink). I gave them 60 seconds as a team to brainstorm what they might write about on an exam. After the 60 seconds were up, they had to send someone up to the board and write five points as quickly as they could.
The competitive nature of the activity was fun - especially last block on Friday! We ended class with me taking a photo of the board and wrapping up the week.

After they had left, I asked ChatGPT to create a table using the information in the photo to make a study guide for the link between concepts and the prevalence rates of depression.

As you can see, despite their enthusiasm and effort, some of the points above are not ideal for approaching this essay. In addition, some responses fit better with different concepts. But this is addressed in the next class.
Step 2. Giving feedback
I printed out A3 (11 × 17 inches) copies of their original table. Each table gets one large copy and colored pens to give feedback and make changes. I give them about 8 - 10 minutes to complete the task.
Their work looks something like this.

After they complete that, I share a table I created with information from the ebook as well as what we have discussed in class. They then compare their work with my work. We then spent 10 minutes debriefing their discussion, clarifying whether some of their responses were appropriate or not.
