Cambodia shares a border with Vietnam; as a result it became a victim of the conflict within Vietnam. The US was determined to Cambodia free of communism which meant disastrous intervention and destablization in its internal affairs. The US also carried out bombing on Cambodia as part of the efforts to stop the Ho Chi Minh Trail. As a result of such actions, it did actually fall to communism with devastating effects...
