1. Student Access: setting up student groups
The first stage in giving your students access to this site is to set up student groups.
As we have two student e-books on this site for both the second year IB students following the ‘old’ guide, and the students starting this year, in 2026, following the ‘new’ guide, you will be given the option to choose which course they are following.
They will then only see the student e-book for their course. You of course will always be able to see both e-books as well as the teacher resources.
Setting up your classes
- To access your classes, or create new ones, please click on the "waffle" menu which can be found on the top navigation of every page. Then click "Student access manager".
2. Click "My groups" and you should be able to see your existing groups and add new ones.
3. When you open an existing group, you may be asked to confirm whether it is following the old syllabus or the new syllabus.
4. When you create a new group, you will also be asked to specify which course your students are taking.
5. Give the group an appropriate name and description and specify which guide they are following. Then click Next.
6. You should now have a web link to give your students. They will use this link to set up their account and join your class.
Changing hidden student pages so that students can see them
Some student pages are ‘hidden’. For example under Paper 1, we have hidden the full source papers in case you wish to set these e.g. as a test and do not want students to have seen them beforehand.
However, you have the option to change these so that students can see them. You just need to click on your class group, click on page manager and follow the instructions.
The pages are colour coded so you can easily see which are hidden; you can click on any of the orange pages to make them visible to students.
