In his speech inaugurating the newly independent Kenya, Kenyatta promised that the new government would tackle the three big challenges of poverty, ignorance and disease.There was much success in both economic and social progress; however in the process Kenya moved from a multi-party to one party state with Kenyatta as President.What were the political challenges after 1963 and how were they addressed?
