Mussolini's Italy was continuously at war between 1935 and 1939. The key turning point in Italian foreign policy was the invasion of Abyssinia which would ake Italy's foreign policy on a new course. The conquest of Abyssinia led to a surge of nationalist feeling and this in turn encouraged Mussolini to further acts of aggression.
