August 2025 Updates and Notices

Dear subscribers

Welcome to the August Newsletter!

In late July, we welcomed Myanmar as the 120th country/territory to join the InThinking Business Management community! A very warm welcome to Yamini Pandit and students at SKT International College!

Some updates to the website during the past month include:

• A fully updated glossary of key terms to support student learning, now with 776 definitions arranged in alphabetical order.
• Updated Flashcards and Quizlet for BMT 1 SWOT analysis here. Students can choose their preferred style(s) of quizzes from the Quizlet dropdown menu.
• Updated Flashcards and Quizlet for BMT 2 Ansoff's matrix here.
• A new set of Flashcards and Quizlet for BMT 3 STEEPLE analysis has been added here.
• A new set of Flashcards for BMT 4 (Boston Consulting Group matrix) has been added here. There are now more than 2000 built-in InThinking Flashcards to support student revision and comprehension of the vocabulary used in the course.
• A new set of Revision Flashcards (with over 40 flashcards) and embedded Quizlets for Unit 3.2 (Sources of finance) have been added here.
• A new TOK activity for Unit 5.9 has been added here. This comprehensive task focuses on exploring artificial intelligence (AI) and ethics, as a key concept, and linked to business decision-making. This resource has been created and shared by Dr. Adithi Ramesh in collaboration with InThinking Business Management. Adithi teaches at Hiranandani Upscale School in Chennai, India. Many thanks, Adithi!
• Our 25th Paper 2 exam practice question (Section A) has been added to the Exams section of the website here (teacher access only). This resource has been created again in collaboration with Dr. Adithi Ramesh. Adithi is an IB examiner. Many thanks to Adithi for her efforts and generosity in getting this resource completed for the InThinking Business Management community!
• Our 26th Paper 2 resource (Section B) has been created in collaboration with Shereen Raouf who teaches at Cairo English School in Egypt. The exam paper and mark scheme can be accessed here. Shereen is a highly experienced IB DP educator and an examiner for Business Management and Economics. Many thanks to Shereen for her time and support in getting this resource produced for the InThinking Business Management community!
• You can read about the new Extended Essay in this blog on the InThinking Business Management website. This video might also be useful to gain an overview of the new guide.

Coming soon to InThinking

Looking ahead to August, we will focus our energies on the upcoming Paper 1 pre-release statement for candidates taking exams in November 2025. The pre-release statement can be downloaded from My IB by using the link here.

The Paper 1 exam for SL and HL students taking exams in November 2025 is scheduled on Wednesday 29th October in the afternoon. The duration is 1 hour 30 minutes (excluding 5 minutes reading time prior to the start of the exam).

Also, note that HL candidates have their Paper 3 exam scheduled after their Paper 1 exam on the same day.

Upcoming teacher training courses

InThinking has more than 20 years of experience in providing top quality IB-approved workshops. The IB-approved workshops (both face to face and virtual) have a duration of 2 ½ days. The InThinking team consists of more than 120 workshop leaders, consultants, and authors, all of whom are highly qualified experts in their respective fields.

InThinking also offers a range of non-IB certified virtual seminars all of which are branded as "Think-Ins". As the name suggests, they are designed to promote thoughtful discussions on, and deeper understanding of, topics that complement official IB workshops. The Think-Ins are led by expert practitioners, and last for 3, 4, or 6 hours over 1 or 2 days.
