February 2025 Notices and Updates
Welcome to the February 2025 Newsletter.
And a very Happy Lunar New Year to you all!
In January 2025, we reached two new milestones, with 2,640 registered teachers and 28,023 students now using the InThinking Business Management website. This is the highest number of teachers we have had and the first time we have reached 28,000+ students. My sincere thanks for all your ongoing support 🙏
It has been a really exciting month, especially with the opportunity to work with colleagues from different parts of the world to create additional resources for the site. Some of the updates during the past month include:
With St. Valentine's Day fast approaching, your students might enjoy this new activity called "For the Love of Business Management". Students need to create a list of Business Management concepts, tools, and theories linked to St. Valentine's Day. It is a fun and interactive way to reinforce knowledge and application skills, making revision more engaging. Full instructions can be accessed here. Note that this activity can be adapted for any seasonal event or festival that best applies to your school and students.
Two new Paper 3 (HL only) exams and mark schemes have been added to the website. The first can be found here. It is based on a real-world for-profit social enterprise called Karya, with operations in 24 of the 28 states in India. The resource has been produced in collaboration with Samik Das, Housemaster at The Doon School, Dehradun, India. Samik is also a senior IB examiner. Many thanks for all your efforts with this, Samik!
The second and our latest Paper 3 resource (consisting of a full set of exam-style questions and detailed mark scheme) has been created in collaboration with Sylvaine Plan, who teaches at Premier International IB Continuum school in Lalitpur, Nepal. You can find the Libros De Libertad case study, exam questions, and mark scheme here. Many thanks for all your efforts with this, Sylvaine!
Our latest Paper 2 Section B resource, along with a full and detailed mark scheme, has been created in collaboration with Sarah Sherif, who teaches at Evolution International School in Egypt. It is based on a sustainable farming business called GreenHarvest Farms. The resources can be found here.
A new interactive quiz for Unit 2.3 Leadership styles has been created and shared here by Natalie Adeeleh who teaches at Ramallah Friends School in Palestine. Many thanks, Natalie! On the same site page here, users can access a key term crossword and Paper 2 exam practice question based on leadership styles.
A new summary revision sheet for the three motivation theories in the syllabus (Unit 2.4 Motivation and demotivation) that apply to SL and HL students can be found here. The HL only version (covering the theories of McClelland, Deci & Ryan, and Vroom) can be found here. Both these site pages include a downloadable PDF version of the summary and revision sheets for your students.
An updated True or False Quiz for Unit 5.8 R&D can be found here. Teachers can also now download a PDF version of this quiz to use with students in class.
John Elkington's triple bottom line is not often regarded as a quantitative tool, although his three pillars of sustainability are measured in the annual sustainable Trade Index (STI), reported by the Hinrich Foundation. The 2024 edition of the world’s most sustainable economies in 2024, with their respective STI rankings, can be found in Case Study 13 here.
The glossary of key terms for the course has been updated, following the recent completion of the November 2024 exams. There are approximately 740 key terms in this glossary, so students should take their time to review these to consolidate their understanding and comprehension of the language used in IB Business Management.

At the time of writing, a total of 26,993 IB DP Business Management students are registered on the website, all of whom enjoy free access. In addition, you can register all other Business Management teachers at your school to gain access to the site for no additional charge. The annual subscription therefore offers excellent value and can save you hundreds of hours in planning:

GBP | 225 | 4.33 | 0.62 |
The website is updated weekly throughout the year. We have created a short YouTube video to show students and teachers how they might might use the website.
Social media engagement
At the time of writing, there are more than 2,157 teachers in our InThinking Business Management Facebook group who share questions, ideas, and resources on a regular basis. We also have 774 teachers in our highly active InThinking WhatsApp group. What we ask for is that all members check their WhatsApp privacy settings to ensure their full name and a suitable profile picture are on display - this is simply so that we all know who we are communicating with.
Looking ahead
As we look ahead to next month, resources will be added to the InThinking website for the upcoming Paper 1 pre-release statement (due out on My IB in early February, for the May 2025 examinations).
Wishing you all a productive and rewarding Year of the Snake!
