Content updates for the new syllabus

A quick update for schools about to deliver the new syllabus for DP1 students (some schools in India start their new academic year in late June / early July).
The InThinking Business Management website has been updated to the first 15 units of the new syllabus. Other updates include:
All content for Unit 1 - Introduction to Business Management has been completed. The IB recommends 20 taught hours for this section of the new syllabus. There is no HL content in Unit 1.
All content for Unit 2 - Human resource management has been completed. The IB recommends 35 taught hours for HL and 20 hours for the SL course.
The majority of the 15 components of the new Business Management Toolkit (BMT) have been completed. This includes ideas of how you can integrate each of the tools to the new specifications, using an inquiry-based questioning approach. The remaining elements of BMT are work in progress and will be completed soon.
Details of each of the four The 4 key concepts (creativity, ethics, sustainability, and change) have been completed. Again, to help make concept based teaching and learning more authentic, I have provided suggestions to show where each of these concepts can be applied to different parts of the new specifications. This will also help students to improve their integration of the key concepts for the new Internal Assessment.
Details of the new internal assessment have been completed, including 30 sample IA research questions for the new course. There are at least 6 research questions for each of the 4 key concepts in the new guide.
Full details of the new external assessment papers has been completed with top tips for each of these exams. This includes my "ATES" framework for tackling the new 17-mark essay in Paper 3 (HL only).
The new course also sees two minor changes to the Command terms used in the course. There are now 31 command terms (instead of 30). It will be useful to introduce your students to the different demands of the command terms from a very early stage of the Diploma Programme. Discover the two changes to the command terms here.
Many thanks to the 1,362 teachers of IB Business Management who use this site regularly. Your ongoing support is highly appreciated.
With best wishes for the month ahead, especially those about to teach the new Business Management course!
