February 2022 updates and notices

February 2022 updates and notices

At the time of writing, many people across the world are celebrating the new Lunar New Year. Whilst some teachers and students are enjoying the festive break, the IB has launched the following to keep us all (very) busy:

  1. Release of the Paper 1 case study (Peacewick University). You can find details about the M22 Paper 1 and tasks for the pre-release case study here.

  2. Release of the new DP Business Management Guide, for first teaching in July/August 2022 (first exams in 2024). You will find updates on the InThinking Business Management website for the new syllabus here. These updates include:

The entire website will be updated in time for first teaching of the new syllabus in July/August 2022. The website will still have all the content (curently in excess of 626,000 words) for the current syllabus (final exams in N23).
Other updates to the website include:
  • A new exam practice question for Unit 4.5 (The importance of branding) has been uploaded here.

  • New ATL activities have been added to Unit 4.1 (How innovation, ethics & culture influence marketing), which can be accessed here.

  • If you need some inspiration for introducing or reviewing Unit 2.3 Leadership and management and/or Unit 2.4 Motivation, then have a look at these two activities here. The Spaghetti & Marshmallow Challenge is commonly used in schools and the corporate world (as a team building exercise), but The Great Egg Drop is also a lot of fun - if you're fortunate not to be teaching online only (like those lecturers at Peacewick University!)

Earlier in the month, we also welcomed our 1,200th teacher from American School of Bahrain to the InThinking Business Management community. There are over 9,780 students across 101 countries enjoying free access to the website. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support.

Please note details of the upcoming workshops and training events hosted by InThinking. Participants will receive certification from InThinking following the completion of the upskilling courses.
Finally, many people have asked about resources for the new course. Please take a look here for details. The information on this Padlet should also be useful.
Wishing you all the very best for the Year of the Tiger!
