Gas exchange in plants (2025)

Plant leaves are highly adapted for gas exchange. This series of activities looks at the structures that enable a leaf to maximise gas exchange. It then focusses on skills such as drawing cross-sections of dicotyledonous leaves and determining the density of stomata on a leaf from a micrograph image.Why might cactus have spikes instead of leaves?How else are they adapted to live in desert conditions?
