D1.1 DNA replication - written task SL & HL

This structured extension question is in the style of the IB exam questions.
The focus of this question is the role of enzymes in DNA replication. Often in IB exams the process of DNA replication will be the subject of an extended response question, here the details have been separated into several shorter questions.

In Standard level Biology the course content includes just two enzymes, DNA polymerase and Helicase.

At Higher level students are expected to understand the differences between DNA polymerase I and DNA polymerase III, and to have knowledge of DNA primase, and DNA ligase enzymes.

Enzyme specificity means that enzymes catalyse one reaction, or one type of reaction.
The reactions of DNA replication require several interdependent reactions involving different enzymes because they each have specific roles in DNA replication.
