C4.1 Populations & communities - written task

This structured extension question has a focus on the concept of mutualism, an important relationship between two organisms or species.

Herbivory, predation, interspecific competition, mutualism, parasitism and pathogenicity are all categories of interspecific relationships, these are interactions between species.

There are several types of relationship between organisms in any community. These include the interactions between predator and prey, competitor or host. The stability of a community depends upon the balance of these relationships.

Mutualism is one of the most interesting.

Describe a specific example of a mutualistic relationship between two species in a community.
