For Students: Higher Level Essay

This week, I’ve been working on the “For Students” section of the site with a specific focus on the Higher Level Essay.  I’ve created the following pages for this week’s update:

Higher Level Essay

  1. What is it?
  2. How am I graded?
  3. Can I read an example?

By the end of July, I will have added pages that go into more detail about the line of inquiry, the start to finish process of writing the essay, and a final checklist you can hand to students before they submit it to you.

The goal of the “For Students” section is for you to have a go-to place to send your students when they have questions about either assessment.  It’s written in student friendly language and is (hopefully!) a great guide for them in preparing them for success.  You’ll also find the Individual Oral section is up-to-date and ready to go.

And as a friendly reminder, your students get free access to InThinking with your subscription.  You can find out how to give them free access to the site here.

Best,

Tim
