The Language of Artificial Intelligence

This week, we are publishing a set of lessons about artificial intelligence.  The goal of this new page is not to understand how artificial intelligence works or to even define artificial intelligence.

Instead, the goal of this page is to have students focus on how artificial intelligence is portrayed and why.  Students will read various texts and closely analyze the words and images used by the author(s).

By doing so, they will heighten their appreciation of how language is used to depict artificial intelligence in a certain light.  With a focus on connotation, punctuation, sentence structure, tone, images and more, the close analysis will allow students to see how artificial intelligence is positioned to readers and why.

This is great close reading practice and the bigger goal is to help students to become more confident and capable thinkers about the world around them.

Best,

Tim and David
