This week, we are publishing another Paper 2 response.  While this essay scores lower than the other two we’ve published from this question, we find that having a range of essays of varying quality is helpful in the classroom.  You can find the previous two essays here and here.

For example, students often struggle with understanding the difference between satisfactory, good, and perceptive knowledge.  The same is true for understanding the difference between just having an interpretation, having a sustained interpretation, and providing a persuasive interpretation of the implications of the question in relation to the works chosen.  

By comparing and contrasting three different essays, it brings the marking criteria to life with concrete examples.  As always, use what works for you, in your context, with your particular students and modify anything you need to change.
