At the time of writing, there have been a total of eight official Paper 1 exams – May and November 2021, May and November 2022, and May 2023.  There are two time zone exams in May, but only one in November.

Most likely, you will use these exams in some form in your classroom.  But you may also be worried that students already have a copy of the exam (they are quite savvy) or you may want to create something original even if it’s not an IB approved Paper 1 exam. 

We recently added a space on the site for just this: Paper 1 Practice Exams.   There’s a practice exam based on a letter, a practice exam based on an infographic, and a practice exam based on a book review. 

This week, we’ve added three more practice exams.  Please remember that these practice exams are not IB approved and they have not gone through the normal IB process for paper setting.  Instead, they are our way of trying to save you time; instead of creating your own Paper 1 practice exams, you can use one of these for in-class work, end of year exams, mock exams, and more.
