Getting Started: Students

Thursday 9 February 2023

In this week’s update, we’ve added a new top-level heading titled “Getting Started: Students.”  This is the one place on the site dedicated entirely to students.  “The course” gives them a brief outline of what they will do in a Language and Literature class and provides some information about the course concepts and questions used in the guide about the areas of exploration.

Assessment, exemplars and exam revision” is – hopefully! – a super useful and student friendly place for students to understand the various demands of each assessment.  Pages in this section take the form of a question (i.e. “How do I prepare for my Paper 2 exam”) with relevant answers to the question.  This part of the site isn’t new, but it’s been re-named and re-housed here.

Finally, there is a heading titled the “Learner Portfolio.”  These pages contain some information about it including what it is, why it’s needed, and the value in having one.

Please remember that you can give your students free access to the site with your paid subscription: https://www.thinkib.net/englishalanglit/page/46812/student-access

Best,

Tim and David
