Representations of Women in Cartoons (A Body of Work)

For this week's update, I've created a body of work using a single cartoonist: Liza Donnelly.  All of the chosen cartoons center around the representation of women.  Donnelly is such an active and prevelant cartoonist that her texts work really well in our course.  You can find a link to the resources here.

Please note that we have also published resources for studying cartoons in general (not using a body of work).  You can find them here.  I would argue that you shouldn't feel so pigeon-holed to only studying bodies of work.  How limiting!  But, when the time is right, and when it suits your context, examining multiple and very different bodies of work is both necessary and illuminating for our students.  This is - hopefully - one such body of work.

Best,

Tim
