Passing the torch

Dear colleagues,

I would like to thank all of the language and literature teachers who have subscribed to this Subject Site and supported my activities. By all measures, it is safe to say that the success of this website has exceeded expectations. It is for this reason that I have mixed feelings about resigning from my work on the Subject Site.

Although the site has been live for less than a year, I began writing it three years ago. Since then I have written an average of 2,000 words per week, an amount that I find difficult to maintain today with other responsibilities in my life. What’s more, I find that the site could benefit from a new author with a fresh outlook on this subject.

It is with great pleasure that I introduce David McIntyre as the new Subject Site author. His experience and expertise will certainly prove valuable in increasing the quality of the site. Those who know him know that I am leaving the site in good hands.

Finally, I would like to thank InThinking for allowing me to share my ideas on their platform. I have enjoyed working for them and I have a lot of respect for their achievements.

I wish everyone the best in their teaching. As Einstein once said: “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”

Until we meet again,

Brad Philpot
