September 2024 Updates and Notices
Welcome to the September updates and notices!
As a new academic year embarks for the majority of teachers in IB schools, I am delighted to be able to share some new classroom posters that have been created and shared by Tarren Mulligan from Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, Thailand. You can find the high-resolution posters as PDF documents by using the following links. Many thanks Tarren!
Paper 2 assessment posters (SL and HL)
Paper 3 assessment poster (HL only)
For those teaching or reviewing Unit 2.4 Motivation and demotivation, you may be interested in this review crossword created and shared by Sylvaine Plan, who is the EE Coordinator at Premier International IB Continuum School in Nepal. It's a great way to review the contents of a rather large unit in the new syllabus. The crossword can be accessed here. Many thanks, Sylvaine!
An increasing number of candidates are choosing to write a World Studies Extended Essay (WSEE), which is an interdisciplinary EE rather than a subject-specific EE. Find out more about the WSEE and its relevance to Business Management students, including top tips and guidance on interpreting the assessment criteria here.

On 15th August 2024, Montenegro became the 116th country to join the InThinking Business Management community! A very warm welcome to Lauren Streifer and Reuben Drake and their students at Knightsbridge Schools International Montenegro. At the end of August 2024, there were 2,408 registered teachers and 18,546 students from across 116 different countries using the InThinking Business Management website (this represents more than 70% of all IB World Schools that offer IBDP Business Management). Content on the website exceeds 1,900,000 words - to put this into context, that's more than 475 Extended Essays(!) To put this into context, the 762-page IBID Press textbook (5th edn) is around 360,000 words. So, there are plenty of resources to engage and support teachers and students alike. Your ongoing support is highly appreciated.
Please note that your IB Business Management students can have completely free access to the website once you have activated Student Access. You can also register other teachers in your school to gain access to the website, which is updated every week, 52 weeks a year. The annual subscription therefore represents extremely good value for money and will save you hundreds of hours of planning:
Currency | Annual | Per week | Per day |
USD | 285 | 5.48 | 0.78 |
EUR | 250 | 4.81 | 0.68 |
GBP | 225 | 4.33 | 0.62 |
In August, we also welcomed our 2,080th teacher member to the InThinking Business Management Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/958483097945195/ We also have 677 teachers in our WhatsApp group who engage in daily discussions about our wonderful subject in the DP. Please feel free to join us on these social media platforms to share questions, ideas, and resources on a regular basis.
Wishing teachers in May centres a great new academic year ahead, and very best wishes to all staff and students in November centres for the upcoming exams.
