Climate emergency language
Every year, the Oxford University Press (OUP) publishes its Word of the Year, selected because the term is representative of the year in question, and has "lasting potential as a term of cultural significance". Now, we can debate what is really meant by "representative", and also how we might recognise "lasting potential", but OUP"s choice for 2019 - "climate emergency" - seems to fit the specification quite conclusively.
