By "mini-essay" I mean a piece of discursive prose which sets out to present an idea or argument concisely and effectively. Actually, on checking the word-count of the two texts presented in this page, I discover that they correspond pretty well to what English B students produce under exam conditions for HL Paper 2 - Mini-essay 1 is 423 words, and Mini-essay 2 is 729 words. So perhaps they"re not so mini after all,...
