On these pages, you will find a series of student samples from the May 2026 assessment period. This was the fifth year of assessment for the DP Music Subject Guide, adopted in 2020 with the first assessment in May 2022. Generally, the application of the marking criteria should be more critical as the intention and requirements of this component have become better understood. Please take note of the critical feedback included with each sample.
The criteria commentary represents thoughts expressed by the authors. These are non-definitive marks, but they are consistent with the definitive marks given. All samples are anonymous and were submitted with the permission of the author after the examination period.
You will find each of the samples posted as follows:

- Reminders for the required documentation for submission
