What follows is, to some extent, an exercise in Lit Crit. It involves looking at a text by a reputed author, full of figures of speech, and with an imaginative, even "poetic", approach to a significant topic. However ... I would argue that it is an unhelpful delusion to conceive that there is some sort of specialised mystique about such "lit crit".
