Norwegian physics olympiad

One of my students, Emil, just achieved first place in the Norwegian final of the physics olympiad (he's the one with the biggest smile). I can't claim more than a few rays of reflected glory but would like to point out that if it wasn't for the student centred approach of my course, he wouldn't have been able to use so much time doing practice questions during class. The possibility for students to work at their own pace is a big advantage of this approach. Emil completed all of the required assignments very quickly so was able to focus on some extension work and problem solving and I was able to help him.
