Activity: Polarisation 3D films and holograms

Here we will look more closely at the concept of the polarisation of light to understand why only 50% of light passes through a polarising filter, observe the effect of rotating polarisers, derive Malus" law, appreciate the role of polarisation in 3D movies and explain the principle of holography.
