Convert circuit diagram to circuit. It's not often that students get to develop real practical skills so it might be worth taking this opportunity to teach them how to solder (if you can remember yourself). Alternatively you could invest in some basic electronics kits which probably cost more than soldering irons. Soldering loose wires isn't easy so you will also need some heat resistant boards to press the joints...
