Holidays, relatively speaking

Tuesday 9 June 2020

I don't know about you but I'm on my holidays. Can't go anywhere of course but I live in many peoples holiday destination so it doesn't really matter. I always say that the good thing about holidays is I have more time to work. I say it mainly to wind up my colleagues but it's true I mean working on the website of course. My current project is to produce multiple choice questions for all the options (e.g  MCQs Lorentz transformations). Then I'll do the answers for all the option activities. Where ever possible I use animations in the questions. So much easier for students to see what's going on. They will have to get used to dealing with out them for the exam but I see these questions as part of the process of cementing understanding rather than exam preparation. The relativity questions are packed with animated Alices. I'm afraid you won't understand why I'm using white rabbits and mushrooms if you haven't read the books. I don't intend to sit indoors all the time though, I have some other projects on the go, like this boulder 20 minutes walk from my house. I haven't climbed that obvious brushed line yet but it has a name already Aurora Borelliosis after all the sheep ticks I have to remove from my arms each time I go there.
