It's omega not double u

Maybe it’s just my students but they seem to have some sort of resistance to using the Greek alphabet. It might be due to the student centered nature of the course, they don’t hear me saying omega so often so read it as w. It’s like reading lord of the rings and pronouncing all of the names wrong. I worry about my students going to university, hanging out in the physics department, trying to impress, drop out in conversation a equals minus w squared r. Snigger, where do you come from?
