After finishing mechanics I get my students to do a mini IA investigation. They have to come up with a research question related to a bow and arrow, then with my guidance they complete a full report.

I then mark it according to the criteria. I think it is essential to do a trial run of the IA, even though we scaffold the skills we shouldn't expect students to be able to apply them without practice. It's also good practice at using google classroom.
