Here are the winners of the Norwegian Physics Olympiad 2017. The one on the right is Nikita and he won, he is also my student. Hurrah and congratulations. He is obviously very good at problem solving and I have found it interesting observing his technique.

• He is very meticulous, often checking his answers by using alternative methods or units, even when the problems are easy.
• He always explains his steps so that he can spot mistakes when he goes over his answers.
• He can sometimes answer problems even though he has never seen an explanation of the physics.

Maybe I'll get him to write a guest blog post when he gets back.
