I Aint gonna cry no more

My first year students are making great progress with their investigations and I for one aint cryin'. I have no solid data to base this on but it does seem that the students are making better use of the class time. I put this down to the student centred approach I have adopted. Students are used to working in class, they used to be used to listening to me. We have also done a trial investigation which I marked according to the criteria.

Here is a progress report for a handful of my students (the ones doing something photogenic at the time I got my camera out).

Yehya is building a launching mechanism so he can study the relationship between the height of a projectile and the width of the elastic.

Amanda is making the ends to seal her cylinder so she can fill it with different substances and roll it down a slope.

Socheat decided to make bridges out of spaghetti then investigate the strength as he changed the span.

Liv (you can just about see her) is turning a turbine with water poured from different heights.
