Lord of the board

I have just finished the first part of the new  Approaches section, Approaches to Teaching . I found it quite interesting to analyse the way I teach the subject. I have coined a new term for my approach, I'm not a "sage on the stage" or a "guide on the side" I am the "Lord of the board". At least that's how it is for about 3/4 of the course. Over the years I have become a little too dependent on the board, if for some reason it doesn't work then I can't speak. That's what happened when the Queen of Norway visited my class last year.

During practical sessions I am more of a "guide on the side" and my aim is to move more towards that style of teaching for other aspects of the course.

Next project is to complete the section on Approaches to learning then construct my unit planners for the year.
