Bathroom physics

During the course of a one hour lesson some students will always feel the need to visit the bathroom thereby missing out on some of the lesson. What could be better than making it possible to continue the lesson whilst in the bathroom. TV screens with SMART board notes on them perhaps. I work in a building with 5 rooms, each room has its own SMART board so the student would need to be able to select the right channel but that wouldn't be a problem. Or how about taking experiments into the bathroom. I can't believe I'm using the term bathroom, as a Brit I should be writing toilet but every time I think of a sentence like , "do an experiment in the the toilet" I realise the benefit of the American term. The bathrooms in the science block are completely dark (when the light is off) so are great for light experiments. Today I took a piece of luminous potty putty with me. illuminated it for ten seconds then switched off the light. See photo for the result. So now any student who leaves for the bathroom during class can take the luminous putty with them and ponder the physical principals it's based upon.
