Not been blogging so much of late partly because I'm on holiday. That sounds like I've not been bothered to blog because when I'm on holiday I like to relax and not think about physics teaching. That's not the case. When I'm on holiday my days don't get interrupted by classes so I can spend more time writing. New syllabus coming next year remember. The new syllabus isn't finished yet but there is enough to make a start on the new books. The new editions will be an e-book as well as paper book which means some of the diagrams will be animated, this is one area I've been working on. Heres' one idea for an animated diagram to show parallax. This isn't the one that will be going into the book of course, that one will be drawn by someone who can draw. The aim is to show how objects drift apart when the observer moves around and also to show how different sized objects can look the same size from different distances. I'd really like the observer to move rather than the boxes but have't worked out how to do that.
