International wave

Today I tied 12 balls to the ceiling on 1m long strings to see if I could make a pendulum wave for real. I got 6 student to hold two balls each and release them one after the other. Not anywhere near as impressive as the simulation but it didn't take so long to set up either. I'm thinking of a bigger version with 36 mini slinkies but have to wait until they arrive.

As you can hear from the video it worked well enough to impress at least one of my students who can be heard whooping in the background.

You've head of a Mexican wave well this was an Afghan - Norwegian- Latvian - Swazi - Finnish - Nicaraguan wave. The class that followed was actually about electrical circuits, this was just my hobby.
