He joined St Clare’s Oxford in 1979, working as Head of English B for 23 years. This experience resulted in comprehensive knowledge of the IB Diploma Programme and an in-depth familiarity with how the IBDP functions in schools.
David left St Clare’s in 2002 and moved to Catalonia with his wife, where, in addition to maintaining his interest in the IBDP and educational consultancy work, he was a keen artist, always working towards the next exhibition of his paintings, while deepening his knowledge of Spanish and enjoying Spain.
David worked tirelessly on the InThinking DP English B website from before its 2012 launch until his death in 2024.
David was a gentle and calm man, with a ferocious intellect. His words were always well-crafted and full of life’s wisdom, honesty, and fun.
