Assessment (first exams 2027)

We've used the language from the new syllabus to create a series of color-coded rubrics showing the criteria for each assessment task (first exams 2027). There are five rubrics in total; only the Art-making Inquiries Portfolio has the same requirements and rubric for SL and HL. When assessing each task, use the following rubrics to stay aligned with the IB Criteria and to ensure consistency in your marking. Use the bolded words to differentiate between the different 'markbands' in each assessment task.
There are multiple criteria evaluated within each assessment task and not all criteria are of equal value. The different values are labelled below, within each rubric. Below each rubric are links to other pages on our site with more details for each assessment task.
As the syllabus for the first exams in 2027 endeavors to make a greater distintction between SL & HL tasks, you'll also notice that some tasks is weighted differently for SL & HL students. This is labelled above each rubric to make the distinction easy to see.
NOTES:
*While an effort was taken to make the rubrics fit on one page, this wasn't possible in all cases due to the length of the descriptors; please ensure you scroll down each document to see the maximum of two pages per task rubric.
