Internal assessment
The Internal Assessment (IA) requirement for Maths-Analysis & Approaches (SL & HL) is for students to write a paper (recommended 12-20 pages) that explores a mathematical topic of their choice (with appropriate assistance from their teacher) and contributes 20% to a student's overall score for the course. This Exploration is internally assessed by the teacher according to five assessment criteria (maximum mark of 20) and is externally moderated by the IB at the end of the course.
