In 2024 over 64 nations, representing approximately half of the global population, are going to have elections. Education is poised to take centre stage in numerous election campaigns. So, what are some of the key issues for education today? This blog signposts highlights three main themes, and signposts key reports.
The United Nation’s global Transforming Education initiative has curated national education statements from 143 member states. The national statements offer valuable insights on emerging trends and priorities. We will look at three significant trends.
Given the events of the past few years, there is a significant emphasis on wellbeing as a central focus and purpose of education. Prioritizing wellbeing is crucial for effective learning, and it will continue to be a key concern for schools and policymakers worldwide this year. The Developing Well-Being Focused Education Ecosystems specifically addressed the development of wellbeing-focused education ecosystems and included case studies from various parts of the world.
