Algodoo bow and arrow

I've been doing the Mini investigation activity with my first years. It involves a bow and arrow which is quite a complex system. A superficial treatment can assume the bow is like a spring but if they want to go deeper the maths gets a bit too much, this  is where Algodoo comes in. If you build a simulation Algodoo will do the maths for you. You can start with the ideal situation then add friction and air resistance. Displaying forces helps understand the mechanics of the situation.

The bow in the animation was made by Michael Stump and shared on Algobox.
