Not a particularly politically correct title to this video clip but some good physics none the less. I don't see it as particularly suicidal either as long as the masses are close enough. I wonder how the builder managed to work that out. Did he do a rough calculation or maybe a measurement. I guess it was trial and error. Which would be worse to guess to low and accelerate downwards to fast or guess to high and get stuck up there. It's actually not all that simple to calculate the mass required, obviously the mass of the bucket will be less than the builder but this will result in an acceleration downwards so if he jumps from too high he will still hit the ground too fast. I can imagine he first tried from lower down but might have been surprised when using the same mass bucket resulted in a harder landing. I was going to do some video analysis on the motion but the camera moves as the builder travels down which would make it a bit complicated.
