There is no "general solution” for all differential equations. As such, they are classified by whether they are “linear” or “non-linear”, the “methods” that can be used to solve them etc. etc. Analytical solutions (solved using algebraic methods alone) to differential equations that arise in the physical world 'are rare' – this is the warning that many(all?) engineering, computer science etc. applied mathematics...
