Wishing May candidates all the very best for the exams!

There is not too much to say at this late stage apart from good luck! Traditions on wishing luck vary so feel free to translate this as you see fit! There is no doubt that a bit of luck can always help though. At this point I am telling my students this….

  • Try to keep the whole thing in perspective. There is not much more that can be done now - answer what you can and have a go at the rest. You can only do what you can do
  • Make sure the settings on your calculator are correct after the exam mode check
  • Use the 5 minutes reading time for something! Pick a place to start, find your favourite topics,
  • Keep an eye on time - around a mark a minute as a guide so you dont spend a disproportionate amount of time on any one question and have a go at them all
  • Try and pick of marks even on questions that you struggle with - there are often a few gifts in the middle or the end
  • Dont forget the formula booklet and use your GDC when you can!
  • Try and enjoy it! Take deep breaths and solve some puzzles
  • Remember afterwards that what ever was in paper 1 gives a bit of a clue for paper 2 (and maybe 3 for HL)

Teachers! - you will have to wait until ext week to see the papers but don't forget to try them and give your feedback. We are a small community and will be heard!
