Welcome to InThinking MYP History!

Hello and welcome to InThinking MYP History.
This website is co-authored by Paul Grace and Stephen Budd. We are both international school teachers who love exploring new approaches to MYP History.
Over the past year we’ve been busily preparing the latest website in the InThinking family. Both of us are passionate about creating a history-rich website full of fascinating global case studies that can be used in many different school contexts.
As an InThinking site, you will be familiar with our values - dynamic, creative and personal. This means:
Dynamic because we see this website as an evolving resource. We primarily designed the website based on what inspires us as MYP teachers. But we realise that we all have different needs and aims, and that regular updates and preparations are needed for the forthcoming MYP enhancements.
Creative because the resources have emerged from our discussions and reflect our many years of international experience. We’ve both tried to reflect upon the kind of History our students respond to best. We hope to ensure that this website offers you new ways of thinking about an MYP History curriculum.
Personal because we also seek to tailor the website to what the History teaching community needs and wants. We realise that InThinking subscribers are seeking something more. We both hope to lead and respond to conversations about high-quality, inquiry-based, concept-focused teaching and learning. We therefore welcome comments and suggestions for the site.

On the website, you will find a growing library of units and case studies to help you plan an entire continuum of learning. From the start, we’ve designed the website as a student-facing resource. This means that you can use the website directly in class as an e-course with activities, quizzes, reflections and assessments. We have also built in support for e-assessment schools with a bank of practice paper questions for each History theme.A great place to start is by exploring our getting-started pages. Here we outline the structure of the website. Our Unit Planning section then gives detailed unit plan overviews for all the themes and case studies on the website. This will help kickstart your planning.
Once again, welcome to the website, and we look forward to working with you!
