Latest developments

After more than 10 years of continual development this website is now huge. Over 1000 multiple choice questions, hundreds of tests and problems, unit planners for ever unit, 760 blog posts, activities with answers for every lesson including all the options, teaching notes, IA ideas and exemplars, EE advice, TOK, NOS, ATL and all written with TLC. So what don't we have? The activities provide a way through the course but they require time to work through. If a student wants a quick run through of a topic with clear explanations and examples they might be better off using a textbook. Introducing the "ThinkIB study guide", no questions to ponder just straight forward delivery of information. The heavy use of images and animations have enabled us to cut down the text to a minimum and will help students to visualise concepts more easily than by reading a traditional textbook. The study guide can be used to support the activities or as a stand alone resource. Unlike pretty much any other textbook the ThinkIB study guide will never be finished, it is a living entity that will be added to, corrected, embellished and improved as we get feedback from teachers and students. Having said that, we do intend to have a complete SL guide on the site by Christmas. We are almost done with mechanics and should have completed thermal physics by the end of the week. We will publish it page by page so you can start using it with your students right away. My students are just finishing mechanics so will be using it to help them revise for the end of topic exam. If you are wondering about the image try typing a textbook with one finger :-)
