How to use this site

This site is divided into a number of different sections:

1. Teacher resources accessed from the top page.
2. Our Textbook section containing resources for students
3. The IB core section which contains pages on the extended essay in economics, as well as the key concepts and links to the theory of knowledge course.
4. The Internal assessment pages which contain a student booklet to distribute to your classes, guidance on scoring 14/14 on IAs and exemplar material for your students to read and learn from.
5. Exam style questions containing sample questions for each of the three papers, perfect to use as homework or class exercises.
6. Grading practise containing exam responses from IB graduates for you to grade and then compare your scores with those awarded by the examiners.

There are a number of different ways in which teachers can organise the course.  I prefer to teach the course sequentially - starting with an introduction to economics, before the microeconomics units and most of the macroeconomics sections, within the first year of the course.  In year two I complete the remainder of the macroeconomics course as well as the global economics elements.  I will typically set my classes four IAs to complete, a practise commentary followed by one for each of the first three sections.
