Levels of data: Ratio

A variable has one of four different levels of measurement: nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio. Together with the research design, the level of data helps the researcher decide which statistical analysis is appropriate. Both ratio and interval data are on an equidistant scale and objectively measured. However, interval data does not have a zero value, and it can only be added or subtracted, not multiplied or divided.
