Brian Hull

Brian has 25 years of IB experience teaching, coordinating, examining and writing and leading workshops in the Diploma Programme. Brian has been teaching the Global Politics course since it was made available for first teaching in 2015 and is currently a member of the senior examination team for the Engagement Project. He has also examined both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Recently, Brian was part of the curriculum team that developed the new Global Politics guide, and he co-authored Hodder’s Global Politics textbook, which was written in cooperation with the IB for the new guide. Brian’s doctoral dissertation focused on the written and taught Global Politics course.

Brian is originally from Winnipeg, Canada, where he taught the IB and provincial curriculum in the public school system for 13 years. He has spent the last 15 years teaching in Kuwait and Dubai and is currently a Global Politics teacher and Diploma Programme Coordinator at the Canadian International School of Hong Kong. Brian is married and has two adult daughters. He enjoys running, hiking, and reading, and, of course, he loves ice hockey.
